Getting Started
Q1. What is Referly and how does it work?
Referly is a platform that connects job seekers with verified referrers at top companies. Job seekers submit their resumes, and referrers can claim applications to refer them internally.
Q2. How do I sign up as a Job Seeker?
Enter your email address, click the magic link sent to your inbox, and complete your signup. No passwords are required.
Q3. How do I sign up as a Referrer?
Enter your work email address, verify it with the 6-digit code sent to that email, and you're ready to start referring candidates.
Using the Platform
Q4. How do I submit my resume as a Job Seeker?
Log in to your dashboard, upload your resume, and select the companies you want to apply to before submitting.
Q5. Can I apply to multiple companies or resubmit to the same company?
Yes. You can send your resume to multiple companies and even resubmit to the same company if needed. However, please use this responsibly — sending too many applications to the same company may make you look spammy to referrers.
Q6. How long will my application stay visible to Referrers?
Your application remains visible for 14 days unless a referrer claims it earlier.
Q7. Can I edit or replace my application after submission?
No. Once submitted, your application cannot be edited or replaced because it's immediately placed in the referrers' queue. If you need to make updates, you'll need to submit a new application. Please review your details carefully before submitting.
Q8. What happens after a Referrer claims my application?
The referrer will review your profile and, if you're a good fit, proceed with the internal referral process for their company.
Account Management
Q9. How do I delete my account?
Click your name in the header menu, select Delete Account, and confirm. You'll be logged out immediately, and your account will be permanently deleted within 24 hours.
Q10. What happens to my applications if I delete my account?
All your applications and resumes will be erased from the platform right away, and they will no longer be visible to referrers.
Q11. Can I restore my account if I change my mind within 24 hours?
Yes. If you log in again within the 24-hour grace period, your account will be restored, and your data will remain intact.
Referrers
Q12. How do I verify my work email as a Referrer?
Sign up using your professional email address. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your inbox for confirmation.
Q13. How do I claim an application for referral?
Navigate to Available Applications, review the list, and click Claim on any profile you want to refer. Once claimed, the application will appear under My Referrals.
Q14. What happens if someone else has already claimed the same application?
If the application has already been claimed by another referrer, you'll receive a message that it's no longer available.
Q15. How can I track the referrals I've made?
Your dashboard includes a My Referrals section that lists all the applications you've claimed, along with their current status.
Q16. My referral count has decreased — why?
If a Job Seeker deletes their account, all their applications are erased. If you referred that user, your referral count will decrease because their application no longer exists in the system.
Security and Privacy
Q17. What data do you collect when I log in or sign up?
We log your IP address, device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet), browser, operating system, and the time of login — strictly for security and fraud prevention.
Q18. How is my resume stored and protected?
Your resumes are securely stored on AWS S3 with encryption in transit and at rest.
Q19. How can I unsubscribe from newsletters?
Click the Unsubscribe link in any newsletter email to stop receiving updates.
Q20. Is my personal data deleted when I delete my account?
Yes. Your account, resumes, and applications are permanently deleted within 24 hours of your deletion request, except for encrypted backups that are automatically purged during backup rotations.

Q21. How does Referly comply with GDPR and DPDP regulations?
We collect only the data necessary to operate Referly, store it securely, and provide you with the ability to delete your account at any time.
